Biography

Mimoza Keka is a classical pianist, working across solo recital, chamber music and artistic collaboration. Her programmes are shaped with a curator’s ear—linking Baroque architecture, Romantic intensity and contemporary sound worlds into a single, coherent musical narrative.

Her artistic profile is closely linked to research. She completed her doctoral degree in Musical Arts at the age of 26 with the dissertation “The Use of Digital Technologies in Quantitative Analysis of Piano Performance,” recognised for its originality and interdisciplinary significance. This work unfolded on stage through premiere performances of Samuel Barber’s Sonata Op. 26, Maurice Ravel’s Miroirs and Leoš Janáček’s In the Mists—approached with a performer’s intuition and an analyst’s precision. She earned her Master of Arts Diploma under the mentorship of Prof. Lilya Zilberstein and continued her formation at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (2015–2017). 

Keka has appeared in venues and festivals across Europe and the United States, with engagements in cities including Paris, Rome, Prague, Bristol, Milan, Trieste, Siena, Istanbul and New York City. Festival appearances include Siena Summer Festival, Ohrid Summer Festival, Francophone Festival Soleil, Days of Macedonian Music, Golden Lyre Festival and Autumn Musical Festivities. As a soloist with orchestra, she has collaborated with conductors including Sasha Nikolovski‑Gjumar, performing Saint‑Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2. At the Faculty of Music in Skopje she worked with appointed conductors and contributed to projects with the Chamber and Symphonic Orchestra of the Faculty. She also served as an artistic collaborator in the Opera Studio programme, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate vocal students in their operatic training.

Her recent artistic activities include a moderated concert with her Liszt program “From Shadows to Light” at the Bayerische Musikakademie Schloss Alteglofsheim (2026), a recital in the Johannissaal of Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich (2026), as well as her appointment as a jury member of the Munich Piano Competition 2026. In 2022 she released her recording Non‑Fungible (Bach · Scriabin · Barber) and continues her work from Munich as performer, researcher and educator.

• 2017: Classical music projects in Sozopol and Skopje, with solo concerts and programmes featuring composers from North Macedonia (incl. Tomislav Zografski), supported by the Ministry of Culture.
• 2018: AUTUMNAL FAIRYTALE — charity concert for SOS Children’s Village Skopje.
• 2018–2019: Piano&Voice — part of New Cultural Wave, presenting works for solo piano and piano & voice.
• 2018: Recital in Rome with works by F. Liszt, C. Debussy, M. Ravel and composers from North Macedonia (incl. Tomislav Zografski).
• 2019 / 2021 / 2022: FESTIVE RHAPSODY — concert series at the Philharmonic in Skopje, supported by the Ministry of Culture.
• 2019: PIANO SOUND — international concert tour in Paris and Rome, supported by the Ministry of Culture.
• 2019: Selected as one of ten participants in TEME (Transnational European Music Entrepreneur), held in Trieste and Camerino, Italy (Creative Europe / Music Moves Europe).
• 2022: Projects in Skopje and New York, supported by the Ministry of Culture, promoting classical music through solo recitals.
• 2022: Invited pianist Francesca Orlando for a joint piano‑duo tour in Skopje and Bitola.
• 2023: Invited for a solo concert at Ohrid Summer Festival; a piano‑duo recital “Fidan” in the Philharmonic season 2022/2023; and a solo concert at Nazim Hikmet Culture Center in Istanbul.
• 2024/2025: Piano duo concert at the Festival Days of Josip Kašman in Mali Lošinj, Croatia (2024 project); A Musical Story – Johann Sebastian Bach, Skopje (2024 project); From Baroque to Contemporary Macedonian Composers, Skopje (2025 project); piano duo recitals in Vienna, December 2025 (Bösendorfer Salon and Kulturzentrum Währing).
• 2025/2026: From Shadows to Light – Lecture-Concert (concept developed in 2025), presented in 2026 at the Bayerische Musikakademie Schloss Alteglofsheim and at Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich.

Awards and distinctions
She is a prizewinner at international competitions including Pietro Argento, Giovani Talenti San Bartolomeo and Akordeon Art Plus, and a five‑time first‑prize winner at the national piano competition in North Macedonia. She is a member of the Association of Music Artists (SMUM).

Since 2026 she is a member of the Tonkünstlerverband Bayern.
