Biography

Dr. Mimoza Keka is a Munich-based concert pianist whose international concert activity includes solo recitals, chamber music and orchestral performances across Europe and the United States. She has performed in cities including Munich, Paris, Rome, Prague, Bristol, Milan, Trieste, Siena, Istanbul and New York City, as well as at venues and festivals including Schloss Nymphenburg, Herrenchiemsee, the Ohrid Summer Festival and the Skopje Philharmonic.

Her artistic path was shaped in particular by her work with Prof. Lilya Zilberstein, under whose guidance she completed her Master of Arts degree. From 2015 to 2017, she participated in masterclasses at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, where she further developed her work as a pianist and concert performer.

Her repertoire extends from the Baroque and Classical periods through Romanticism and Impressionism to twentieth-century and contemporary music. As a soloist with orchestra, Keka has performed Camille Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2. During the pandemic, when concert halls were closed to audiences, she also performed Benjamin Britten’s Piano Concerto Op. 13 in a streamed concert from the Skopje Philharmonic, presented with piano accompaniment. Her work also encompasses chamber music and collaborations with singers and instrumentalists.

For several years, Keka worked as an artistic collaborator and pianist in the Opera Studio at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, where she worked with undergraduate and postgraduate vocal students on repertoire, interpretation and performance preparation. This work formed an important part of her professional experience with vocal repertoire and ensemble collaboration.

Keka completed her doctoral degree in Musical Arts at the age of 26 with the dissertation The Use of Digital Technologies in Quantitative Analysis of Piano Performance. Her research examined musical interpretation through parameters including timing, dynamics, articulation and touch, combining analytical methods with the perspective of the performing musician.

Alongside her concert activity, she develops her own concert series and artistic formats. For Schlosskonzerte Mimoza Keka and Chiemsee Insel Klassik, she shapes the artistic direction, programme conception and dramaturgical development of the concert formats. Her projects include From Shadows to Light, centred on the piano music of Franz Liszt, as well as Festive Rhapsody, A Musical Story – Johann Sebastian Bach and From Baroque to Contemporary Macedonian Composers.

Based in Munich, Keka also teaches piano and has been invited to serve as a jury member at piano competitions, including the Munich Piano Competition. Her recording Non-Fungible, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alexander Scriabin and Samuel Barber, was released in 2022.
