From Baroque to Contemporary Macedonian Composers
A musical journey through eras and sound worlds
From Baroque to Contemporary Macedonian Composers brings together European Baroque music and works by Macedonian composers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The programme places different musical languages within a shared dramaturgical context, revealing connections between eras, styles and sound worlds.
Vocal duets by Johann Sebastian Bach, French and German-Italian Baroque repertoire for piano, and works by Macedonian composers offer different perspectives on melody, form, colour and musical identity.

The combination of vocal duets, solo piano works and Macedonian repertoire transformed the historic gallery space into a setting for a musical dialogue between different periods and traditions.
A Dialogue Across Eras
The programme does not follow a strictly chronological history of music. Instead, its focus lies on contrasts and connections: Baroque polyphony and ornamentation, lyrical vocal lines, pianistic arrangements and the individual musical language of Macedonian composers.
The result is a concert format in which historical distance becomes a source of musical dialogue, allowing new relationships between different traditions to emerge. The concept can be presented as a complete concert programme or in a moderated format.

About the Project
The project A Journey Through the Epochs explores the connection between classical music and contemporary Macedonian compositions. Its aim is to show how different styles and eras can come together to create a harmonious and emotionally engaging program.
The concert highlights contrasts between the depth and solemnity of Bach’s duets, the elegance and color of Baroque piano pieces, and the distinctive expression of contemporary Macedonian works.
