Ohrid Summer
Festival
Mimoza Keka · 63rd Festival Edition
An evening of Beethoven, Janáček, Chopin and Liszt in the historic Church of St. Sophia — bringing four distinctive voices of piano literature into dialogue.
Four Composers,
One Musical Journey
On 16 August 2023, pianist Dr. Mimoza Keka appeared at the 63rd Ohrid Summer Festival with a solo recital at the Church of St. Sophia, a setting renowned for its historic architecture and distinctive acoustics.
The programme juxtaposed Beethoven’s wit and formal invention, Janáček’s inward-looking sound world, Chopin’s lyrical breadth and Liszt’s monumental sonata writing. Conceived as a unified recital rather than a sequence of unrelated works, the selection explored contrasts in character, texture and musical expression.
