Project A Musical Story - Johann Sebastian Bach
A Musical Story: Johann Sebastian Bach
An Ongoing Concert Series Celebrating the Genius of Baroque Music
A Musical Story: The Johann Sebastian Bach project is not a one-off event; it is an ongoing musical project designed to bring the timeless works of Johann Sebastian Bach to life through dynamic performances. This project aims to explore the profound emotional depth and technical brilliance of Bach’s compositions, with a particular focus on works such as the St. Matthew Passion, the Mass in B Minor, and various instrumental and vocal pieces.
The inaugural concert took place on 1 November 2024 at the National Gallery – Daut Pasha Hammam in Skopje. The project features performances by soprano Marija Tashevska, alto Mariana Boshkovska, and pianist Dr. Mimoza Kjeka. It offers an intimate yet grand exploration of Bach’s work, blending solo performances with vocal and instrumental ensembles. It is the intention of this series to continue across different venues and cities, in collaboration with other musicians and ensembles dedicated to classical music. The objective of “A Musical Story” is to establish an ongoing platform for the appreciation and reinterpretation of Bach’s repertoire. By engaging with different soloists, choirs, and instrumentalists, the project is open to new interpretations, encouraging both traditional and innovative approaches to Bach’s music. Future performances will expand the musical offerings to include larger ensembles providing a diverse and comprehensive Bach experience.
This project is open to collaboration with classical musicians, vocalists, chamber ensembles, and orchestras worldwide. It welcomes contributions from both seasoned professionals and emerging talent, fostering a community united by a shared passion for Baroque music. The Johann Sebastian Bach project offers performers the chance to take part in events in a variety of distinctive locations, which complement the historical and artistic importance of the music. Venues include churches, concert halls, galleries and cultural landmarks.
We are open to collaboration with musicians, ensembles, and cultural institutions interested in participating or hosting future performances. Please contact us to discuss further. The project’s objective is to establish an international network of artists dedicated to exploring and celebrating the legacy of Johann Sebastian Bach. The project is open to diverse forms of collaboration, including joint concerts, festivals, and educational programmes, which will honour the spirit and innovation of Bach’s music.
